SST Process

  • Access to a Student Success Team meeting= includes Gateway staff (teachers, resource specialists, advisors etc.) parents, and the student. Purpose of meeting to discuss student’s strengths, areas of concern, and to recommend interventions and accommodations that become part of an “action plan”. Any parent, who has academic concerns about his child can request an SST meeting.

 

The purpose of the Student Success Team (SST) is to discuss a student’s strengths, areas of concern, and to recommend interventions and accommodations that become part of an “action plan” The action plan also clarifies who is responsible for ensuring that action plan items are implemented and identifies a timeframe for measuring the success of the interventions.

Any parent who has academic concerns about his/her child can request an SST meeting.

The SST is often the first step in the process of referring a student for a learning disability evaluation.
