Parent Fund FAQ

Q. What is the expected level of giving for a Gateway parent?
A. Gateway is a public, charter high school and all students attend Gateway tuition-free, so every contribution – of any size – makes an impact. You can make a donation securely over the internet by using the "Donate Now" button, or mail to Gateway High School Development Office 1430 Scott Street San Francisco, CA 94115.
Q. What has the historic level of parent participation been at Gateway?
A. Gateway is fortunate to have a very generous parent community and annually 80-85% of our parents give a thoughtful gift annually.
Q. What are the suggested giving levels?
A. Parents give what they can afford and support the school in numerous ways. Parents can give monthly through a payment plan, through matching employer gifts or make pledge at the start of the school year and pay as appropriate.
Q. What is the Golden Gator Circle?
A. The Golden Gator Circle is designed for those parents who can give $2000 or more annually to support a student at Gateway. Golden Gator Circle parents are invited to special events during the year for their support.
Q. What are the tax advantages of giving to Gateway through the Annual Fund?
A. Unlike tuition at a private school, gifts to the Parent Annual Fund are 100 percent tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Specific questions should be directed to your personal tax consultant.
Q. If I want to make a confidential gift to Gateway or have questions about the Parent Annual Fund who do I contact?
A. Contact Tina McGovern, Director of Development and Outreach at x 19 or tmcgovern@gatewayhigh.org
