Doris Kearns Goodwin - Honored Speaker at Gateway Annual Event

San Francisco – November 18, 2005
A considerable San Francisco crowd, including Gateway supporters, parents, faculty and Board of Trustees turned out to support the annual Gateway “Matters of the Mind” luncheon, on November 17, 2005, featuring acclaimed historian and Pulitzer Prize winning author Doris Kearns Goodwin AND Gateway students, both past and present.
It was an incredible honor to have Ms. Kearns Goodwin join us and discuss her new book Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln and lead a fascinating conversation with Gateway’s AP History class on aspects of Lincoln’s historical journey where she invited us to reflect upon our own historical importance.
