Advisory Houses

Purple House: Ms. Goldman

Yellow House: Mr. Grossman

Orange House: Mr. Fairbanks

Green House: Mr. Watson

Advisory Mission:
Advisory will provide the opportunity and access for every child and his/her family to be well known by at least one adult. Advisory will promote cross grade relationships at Gateway. Advisory will support students' social and academic development.

Advisory Goals:

  • Academic Support: Students will develop as life-long learners who are aware of their own learning style and needs and who can choose from a variety of study skills to achieve their goals.
  • Community Building: Students will develop skills to be effective community members and community leaders at Gateway and throughout their lives.
  • College Awareness: Students will be aware of and able to make choices that will allow them to have the best options available upon graduation from Gateway.

House Goals:
Houses are smaller communities within the larger Gateway community. Gateway has four houses and each house consists of 8-9 advisories or 115-125 students. The house system is designed to:

• foster school community through house events, traditions and competitions
• provide a smaller community in which students and advisors can help to shape school culture and a house identity
• support and reinforce Gateway's mission and values by recognizing students within each house
